Fort Collins Housing Authority has a wide variety of flexible options to help you and your family, including:

 

Learn more about Villages Affordable Housing Program


If you're looking for a reasonably priced, well-maintained Fort Collins apartments or homes to rent, Villages offers affordable homes and apartment units with rents based on YOUR income, as long as you are above our low minimum income requirements. We offer flexible lease length and security deposit options, even if you have poor or no credit. Waitlist: 3 weeks to 3 months.

This program allows you to rent from a private landlord and pay the greater of the program minimum rent or 30-40% of your family's income and FCHA pays the difference to the private landlord! Waitlist: The housing choice voucher waitlist is closed at this time.

 

Learn more about the Project Based Voucher Program


This program is similar to the Housing Choice Voucher Program expect you must live in a unit through the Northern Hotel, Villages, Care Housing (must meet Care Housing requirements), or Neighbor to Neighbor (must meet Neighbor to Neighbor requirements) for at least one year. Your rent is approximately 30% of your adjusted income. Waitlist: 4 to 24 months, depending on the property.

Public Housing serves families, seniors, and persons with disabilities, with rents based on the greater of the program minimum rent of $50 or 30% of your income. Rents can be adjusted if the family income changes and you may be eligible for allowances for utilities, childcare, and dependents. Waitlist: Approx. 1 year, depending on number of bedrooms.

Reserved for tenants 55 years or older, the Northern Hotel offers affordable one and two-bedroom apartments ideally located in the heart of Old Town Fort Collins. Waitlist: 4 to 6 months.

 

Learn more about SRO (Single Room Occupancy) - Transitional Housing


Transitional housing for single homeless men and women. Three sites offer private rooms with shared bath, living room, kitchen and dining areas with utilities included for 30% of your income or the program minimum rent. Waitlist: 3-4 months

If you've been employed or have been involved in active self-sufficiency case management for two months, and your income doesn't exceed established limits, you may qualify for this program. Waitlist: Closed at this time

These programs are designed to help families receiving housing assistance become economically self-sufficient and independent of welfare.

The Housing Choice Voucher (HCV) Homeownership Program enables a current HCV holder to use that voucher to assist with a mortgage payment as opposed to a rent payment. Find out if you meet our eligibility criteria and move toward the dream of owning your own home! Waitlist: 1-2 years
